National Flood Safety Awareness Week PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 18 March 2010 07:59

This week is National Flood Safety Awareness Week, which is intended to inform and remind Americans of flood risks.  90% of all natural disasters in the U.S. involve flooding.  Last year in Wisconsin alone, there were 107 flooding events, causing $385.31 million in property damage.

We want to educate you on the risks and impacts of flooding so you can protect your family and your property.  To learn how flooding can affect your neighborhood, please visit NOAA’s safety website at www.floodsmart.gov/noaafloodweek.  The site also provides tips on what to do before, during and after a flood, and encourages flood insurance protection.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about adding flood insurance to your insurance protection.  As a reminder, there is a 30 day waiting period to put a flood policy in force.
